Remote School Attendance Strategy
The Remote School Attendace Program assists in getting children to school and finding out the reasons why children are not attending.

Joe Mayers
I come from Tennant Creek, but I briefly lived in Queensland over the years. I work for the RSAS team also known as the Yellow shirts. I’ve worked for PAK since 2015/2016. Working at PAK is good, and I like it. One of the main things I like most is interacting with the families and children while getting to know them.

Gary Marshall
I am from Mount Isa Kalkadoon mob, but I’ve lived in Tennant Creek all my life. At Papulu Apparr-kari I am a SAO (Student Attendance Officer) which is also known as yellow shirts and I have been working here for 6 and a half years. I like working with children, listening to what they like and the goals they have. One of the main things I like about my job is what we do for our community and young ones, we are the stepping stones for our future generation.

Connor Dawson
I come from the Kimberley’s located in Western Australia. At Papulu Apparr-kari I am a SAO (Student Attendance Officer) worker and I have been working here for 3 weeks. One of the main things I like about working for PAK is I like helping the community and helping people to get an education.

Susan Jones
I come from Karlinjaringi community situated South East from Tennant Creek. I have been working at PAK for many years as a SAO, and PaCE at the school where I also help with cross culture in classes. I like working at PAK, I do get called to do translating, recording and check spellings especially in basic words from English to Warumungu.

Latisha Farrell
I come from Tennant Creek. I work as a SAO (Student Attendance Officer) and I’ve worked for PAK for 13 years. I like working with children and other people. What I like most about working at PAK is helping with the language work.

Tommy Gillett
I come from Katherine Northern Territory. At PAK I work with the RSAS team, which involves picking kids up and taking them to school in the morning. I’ve been working at PAK for 3 terms. One of the things I enjoy doing at PAK is getting the kids to school.

Sharon Parlow
I come from Connell’s Lagoon and Borroloola. I have worked at PAK for 2 weeks as part of the PaCE and RSAS teams. I like learning and developing new skills as I go through the process of working in a new job and environment. The staff at PAK are warm and welcoming which makes the job so much easier for me so far.

I come from Tennant Creek and have been working at PAK for a month. I like working with kids and helping their work.

Selina Grant
I come from Tennant Creek and spent many years working as a translator, SAO and part of the PaCE team for PAK. I like working at PAK because it’s a good environment, great co-workers and to keep our language and culture strong.

Priscilla Mick
I come from Canteen Creek 260km South East of Tennant Creek. I have worked with PAK for 2 years spending 6 months in Tennant and moved to Canteen Creek last year. I love working with our school and making sure the kids are getting the education they need for their futures. What I like is its doing the right thing and also helps my exercise.

Triscilla Jones
I am from Tennant Creek and have worked at PAK for a couple of months as a student attendance officer. I like working at PAK, it’s good, I like being around the lovely kids and it helps me be around my child more.

I come from the Ali-Curung community. I have been working for PAK for a year in the Remote School Attendance team. I like going around picking up kids telling them to attend school everyday.

I come from Tennant Creek and worked as a SAO Support Worker for 4 months. I enjoy working with the children.
