This volume presents Jingili and Mudburra plant and animal knowledge, collected in the Murranji, Marlinja, Warranganku (Beetaloo) and Kulumindini (Elliott) area of north Australia by traditional knowledge custodians, linguists and a biologist. Jingulu and Mudburra names and uses of 186 plants and 245 animals are included, along with the scienti c and common English names for each. Introductory chapters provide background information on the Jingulu and Mudburra languages and country, along with terms for implements, words associated with plants, animals and landscape features. The remaining chapters categorise and discuss Jingulu and Mudburra biological knowledge. Indexes of animal common names, plant common names and Jingulu and Mudburra plant and animal names are provided; 110 plants and 152 animals are illustrated.
